Case study · ESV Lüneburg

A real Monday night.

Not an example, not a demo tournament: Monday practice on 17 August at our own club. Ten players, a knockout round with byes, two boards in parallel — set up, played and evaluated entirely in Dartcom.

Two kinds of tournament

The only difference is how many devices you play on.

Club tournament

Runs across your club's boards. Several matches run at the same time, members are added directly, and each board works through its own schedule.

Local tournament

Runs entirely on one device. Matches happen one after another and players come to the device. No club needed, no setup.

How an evening runs

From setup to the trophy ceremony.

  1. Set up your boards

Every physical dartboard gets a number in your club. You pair a tablet by QR code or with the club username and tablet password, then pick its board. This is one-time setup — after that the assignment stays.

  2. Create the tournament

Set the name, mode, score and variant, choose the distances per phase, and decide whether you play on club boards or locally. Specials such as short leg, high finish and high score are tracked automatically.

  3. Add players

Pick club members, add guest players by name, or fill open slots with bots. Guest names are saved for later tournaments.

Adding participants: club members, existing account or guest player
  4. Draw the groups

Dartcom suggests a number of groups — for six players, for instance, two groups of three. You can reorder players, change groups or draw again.

  5. Play the group stage

Each board shows its current pairing and a field for the scorer. After every match a countdown moves things along by itself, and the table of played, won, lost, points and legs updates immediately.

  6. Start the knockout stage

Startable at any board or on the organiser's phone. View it as a list or as a bracket; byes appear as BYE. If someone is missing, they can be removed by walkover.

  7. Follow along live

The eye icon opens the spectator view: status, tournament average, best average, 180s and high finish, plus every board with its score and darts thrown. A star pins a board in place.

  8. Crown the winner

At the end Dartcom shows the podium with averages. Every match stays in the feed and in each participant's statistics.

The club around it

A tournament is one evening. The club is the rest of the year.

  • A club feed with every team member's matches.
  • Club statistics: pick a metric and a period, get a member leaderboard including best match.
  • All of your club's tournaments with date and status in one place.
  • Invite links with a usage limit and expiry, revocable at any time.
